Volvo pure electric new model project landed in Chengdu economic Development zone
Recently, the signing ceremony of "Volvo Car pure electric new models and models in production Optimization and upgrading Project of Chengdu Base" was held in Chengdu. The two sides will introduce a high-end pure electric new energy model and optimize and upgrade the models in production of Chengdu base with the goal of building a green automobile industry ecosystem.
Volvo Chengdu Plant is located in Chengdu Economic Development District (Longquanyi District). It is the first complete vehicle production base established by Volvo Cars in China. It consists of four process and quality control centers, including stamping, welding, painting and final assembly, logistics and independent test track and other ancillary facilities.
According to the agreement, Volvo Cars will launch a new high-end pure electric model in Chengdu base to fill the gap in the field of high-end pure electric new energy vehicles in Chengdu and promote the transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry in Chengdu. At the same time, based on the good cooperation foundation with Chengdu for many years, as well as the good market performance of Volvo Chengdu base, Volvo will optimize and upgrade the models in production.
